SL Steam Locomotive - NP32, Nippo Main Line, Komarugawa Bridge, Limited Express Hyuga
1973, Nichiho Main Line, Komaru River Bridge, Limited Express Hyuga
Limited Express Hyuga
On October 1, 1973, it began operating independently following the electrification of the Limited Express Naha on the Kagoshima Main Line.
The Limited Express Hyuga was born from the renaming of the Miyazaki section of the diesel express Iokaze, which connected Osaka Station and Sasebo/Miyazaki Stations, during the October 1968 timetable revision. Initially, it ran coupled with the Limited Express Naha bound for Nishi-Kagoshima via the Kagoshima Main Line. On April 25, 1974, it became an electric limited express with the introduction of the 481 series electric train.
It was discontinued on March 10, 1975, with the extension of the Sanyo Shinkansen to Hakata Station.
