Does it have waterproofing?

Answer:
We recommend using the tape primarily for reinforcing seams to prevent water ingress. As there are various types of fabrics, this tape may not completely seal holes in all materials.
For best results, first repair the hole securely with a wet bond adhesive, and then use this tape as reinforcement to further prevent water ingress.
Using an apparel-specific bond will enhance waterproofing. Of course, the tape alone is also effective.

Personally, I've used it to prevent water ingress caused by fraying seams, as I believe water always enters through frayed seams.
I've also used it on torn jersey sections.
To be precise, it doesn't completely eliminate water ingress, but it significantly improves durability.
This is my personal opinion, so please use it as a reference.

Are there different types of Melco tape?
Answer:

When manufacturing apparel, long lengths of tape are used, so elasticity is prioritized. However, for repairs, where the goal is to fix small holes or frays of a few centimeters, this tape will serve its purpose without issue. It's helpful to think of Melco tape for apparel manufacturing and Melco tape for repairs as separate categories.
Moreover, if you ask whether a repair tape can last a lifetime, it's unlikely. There will be areas that cannot be fixed with tape, and at that point, it's time to replace the apparel. Therefore, if you use the tape expecting it to last for an average of one season to longer, you won't have to worry as much.
It definitely makes your apparel last longer than not repairing it at all!
