Abingdon
Vintage American Art Deco pottery — Abingdon Pottery Company #486 urn vase, Abingdon, Illinois, 1934–1950. Substantial urn-style form standing 10 tall, 8 wide handle to handle. Smooth warm yellow glaze with bold embossed acanthus leaf band at the shoulder, rope-bead border at neck and base, and twin loop handles completing the classical amphora silhouette. Base stamped clearly: ABINGDON U.S.A. Partially worn original paper label present on body — common and expected on Abingdon pieces. Condition: Excellent — no chips, no cracks, no crazing. Glaze bright and intact throughout. One of the most collectible mid-century American potteries, operating only 1934 to 1950. Displays beautifully on bookshelf, mantle, or console. Yellow glaze pairs well with farmhouse and mid-century modern interiors. A solid addition to any Abingdon collection or American art pottery display. Perfect for Art Deco pottery collectors, vintage ceramics enthusiasts, and mid-century American pottery collections.
